Press abuse laws sufficient – Hislop – Irish Times

He told the Leveson Inquiry that the laws were not rigorously enforced because of the close relationship police and politicians had with senior media executives. “If the state regulates the press, the press no longer regulates the state," Mr Hislop told the inquiry.
