Ala. sides with Shelby Co. in voting rights suit – Associated Press

(AP) — The state of Alabama is backing Shelby County in a lawsuit seeking to have sections of the Voting Rights Act declared unconstitutional ... a 2006 Congressional decision to extend the law for a quarter century was legal.
